CONSTRUCTION ACCOUNTANT/CONTRACT MANAGEMENT

Full time position available at a well–established, growing construction company.  Seeking accountant/contract administrator who has effective organizational, accounting and analytical skills, prefer experience in the construction industry. Position includes need to “wear more than one hat,” meaning the ability to handle more than one set of responsibilities.  A “self- starter” who can help implement changing to a new, more complex accounting software.   All members of the clerical office team will work to maintain the operation and workflow of the office and procedures.     “Cross-trained”

 

General Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchase orders, billings,
  • Help with processing of weekly payroll, including certified payroll for 40+ employees
  • Along with co-workers, help implement/change to new accounting software.
  • Inventory Control/Tracking
  • Working as a team in reviewing new contracts as well as ongoing contract administration (documentation) to ensure they are compliant with negotiated terms, conditions, specifications
  • Provide organization, management, and administration of project related materials and documents, including contract and subcontracts while ensuring that all terms and conditions are met and that the contract is in accordance with contractual requirements, risk mitigation, contract specifications, and government regulations.
  • Help with general office responsibilities including answering phones, checking fax machine, mail, etc.
  • Human Resource Management
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Abilities/Qualifications:

 

  • Prefer 2 years clerical/accounting/billing experience in construction industry
  • Proficient in MS word, excel, outlook
  • Knowledge of Accounting Principles
  • Prefer college degree or Secondary education/training in Accounting
  • * A MUST – High degree of accuracy and attention to detail, highly meticulous
  • Tolerance for a fast-paced , multi-task deadline-oriented environment
  • Strong computer skills. Strong Oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload
  • Critical Thinking / Logical Reasoning
  • Self- Starter
  • 10 Key/Adding Machine, Skilled typing ability
